Gill Gatfield – Cloud

Cloud 2008

Suggesting the poetry of minimalism and the rhythm of monochromatic painting, Cloud stretches out, tactile and taut, a painting to walk alongside.  The title Cloud refers to both the noun (a condensed white patterned form made of air, able to hold water) and the verb (opaque, hidden, ambiguous, troubled, lofty), and the Maori name for NZ - Aotearoa: land of the long white cloud.

Exhibited:  Reflecting Skin 2008, City Art Rooms, Auckland NZ
