Artist Gill Gatfield makes abstract painting, sculpture and installations. Crossing genres and contexts, her work investigates key influences on contemporary art practice from classical and religious art to dada, modernism, and conceptual art. Minimalist form is combined with simple materials — grass, glass, blocks, metal, feathers and language, in works that appeal to the senses and reveal complex relationships between object, image, representation and abstraction.
