Series: The Allegory

Stapled and ringed in barbwire, the Remuera phonetic paintings articulate in black on white the competing pronunciations of the Auckland NZ suburb, Remuera – Maori in Remuera I and Anglicized in Remuera II.  Analysing texts within text, the separated phonetic components suggest fresh meanings, expanding the suburban to a wider political and cultural landscape.
