May 2023. A new shape-shifting monument, In Absentia, will be developed for international presentations under the Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa Global Digital New Work programme. Intended for audience engagement and participation, and backed by three years of interdisciplinary research and experiments, the virtual sculpture will crystallise in the viewer’s imagination and be physically experienced in 3D, in real time and space. The work explores how futuristic forms create new possibilities and connections between people, environment, technology, time and place. Research and development will continue in Greece at the Ionion Center for Arts & Culture Greece (June-July 2023) and in further site specific locations of unique signficance.
