From HALO's presentation at the centre of government in Wellington to the historic grounds of Waitangi, a virtual monument enters a place where Te Tiriti o Waitangi was first signed in 1840 and where its meanings continue to shape Aotearoa New Zealand. Suspended in a legendary space of light between Earth Mother Papatūānuku and Sky Father Ranginui, the ancient stone circle opened a space for imagining new forms of connection, belonging and becoming.

Echoing ancestral traditions of celestial navigation, its luminous circle lights a path to and from the sea for the kauri waka Ngātokimatawhaorua, sheltered under Te Korowai ō Maikuku. The world's largest ceremonial waka was carved to commemorate the centenary of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Activated during a landmark hui of Aotearoa New Zealand women leaders, HALO became a circle of co-creation and unity, honouring Waitangi as a site of transformation and Te Tiriti as a living framework continuing to shape the future.
